Heat Pump Systems Engineer – Open Position

Viessmann is looking for an Engineer to join our North American Climate Solutions team to oversee ground-up development and systems integration projects of residential and light commercial electric solutions. The product portfolio is expanding with A2L refrigerants, advanced compressor technologies, integrated indoor air quality management, and integrated domestic hot water heating. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate to define project goals and milestones
Collaborate on Electric portfolio creation and development
Participate in multiple projects simultaneously across the portfolio from ground up development, to procurement and integration, to improvement and maintenance projects
Use heat pump expertise to guide staff, internal and 3rd-party engineers
Lead evaluations and decision of system performance parameters of heat pumps
Oversee Implementation of heat pump system architecture (integration of subsystems / modules to system)
Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgment.
Effectively and proactively communicate project needs, changes, and status to internal and external team members
Independently present heat pump design concepts and solutions to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
Create overarching technical concepts and decisions of system decomposition for the development of the system architecture based on the requirements, thereby defining dependencies and interfaces between the elements of the system architecture
Ensure technical documentation for development teams and cross functional teams is delivered accurately and on time
Ensure components, modules, and systems meet the required quality standards and regulatory approvals defined in requirements
Implementing design criteria to achieve the quality objectives together with the quality management team
Implementing design criteria to achieve the defined value and cost objectives together with the product management team
Support quality team in analyzing defects within the framework of defect management
Main work results:
- Work with various stakeholders to understand end user needs and deliver results that meet the collective teams needs
System integration concept (strategy for the integration of the heat pump system elements / modules to a complete system)
Successful delivery of completed systems to product management according to time schedule and business case requirements
Develop and mentor less experienced engineering staff
Skills and competency requirements:
Expert knowledge:
- Engineering degree in mechanical or other similar discipline
Heat Pump Product and portfolio knowledge and experience
Experienced in heat pump system integration and approval
Confident in dealing with Polarion, Teamcenter, SAP
Prioritizing and managing heavy workload on multiple projects to ensure high quality and productivity
Resolving issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating requirements, goals, and design with other disciplines
Basic knowledge:
Business fluent written and spoken English
