Applies to:

◾  Vitodens 100-W, B1HE/B1KE Series (models 85 & 120)
◾  Vitodens 200-W, B2HE Series (models 85 & 120)

Symptoms:

The burner is in a fault state, and a fault code such as "F.380" or "F.381" is displayed on the boiler control. Or the boiler's onboard safety system has initiated a shutdown.

Cause:

After a boiler is serviced, burner tube misalignment between the door pin and the alignment hole in the flame body can lead to fault codes and improper operation. Failure to properly align the door pin and the alignment hole in the flame body and/or failure to seal the gasket may cause improper flame formation, which can result in boiler failure and potential damage to the burner door from excess heat.

Resolution:

Ensure that the burner door pin and alignment hole in the flame body assembly are correctly aligned and installed. See images below for illustrations of these components.

Also, verify that the gasket is properly seated, aligned and sealed.

For detailed instructions, please review the section titled "Checking the Burner Gasket and Flame Body Assembly" in the Service manual for the boiler – see links below:
